Ready to dive into the world of the bestselling
The Lost Pharaoh Chronicles
and discover why 20,000 worldwide readers are raving about this historical drama fiction series?

About the Author

When Lauren Lee Merewether was in the third grade, she wrote a story about a lost baby whale searching for her mother in the vast ocean (yes, this was before Finding Nemo). The story got an A+ and ever since then, something stirred in her chest and itched her fingers to write. It was love at first story.

While Lauren was a student, her grandparents visited Egypt and brought back "treasures" and stories. Holding beaded headdresses and running a fingerpad over painted papyrus, it was love at first sight. "I will write amazing stories about Egypt one day," she vowed.

About the Stories & Writing Influences

I love the depth of emotional scars and the exploration of family dysfunction so beautifully depicted by Khaled Hosseini and S.E. Hinton. I fancy Patterson's and Grisham's paces, twists, and political intrigue. I am enamored with Mitch Albom's tales of the strings of humanity that hold us together as well as Francine Rivers' heart-wrenching tales of love and redemption.

I've also fallen in love with a number of works by my Egyptian fiction contemporaries—Moran, Dray, Gedge, and Thornton—and with the great historical fiction authors I've admired for years.

I love ancient history, Egypt's, in particular. In thinking about and writing this saga, I have spent almost eight years learning and reading about the culture, and I have only scratched the surface.

So with all of that said, my stories bring Ancient Egypt to life and allow readers to taste romance and hate, suspense and drama, like Rivers; experience the power of choice and courage, coming of age and passing away like Albom; see the consequences, trauma, and healing from decisions made in prior generations, like Hosseini; and encounter greed and political intrigue like Grisham.
